The resolution of your monitor is only one of the adjustable settings. Each game will have something similar to "low - medium - high - ultra" settings, and will allow you to tweak each setting individually.
That card will not run a very demanding game such as BF3 on Ultra at 1920 x 1080. It will do medium and maybe even high though, if you turn off the anti-aliasing.

1080 p is just a resoultion, what graphical settings are you looking for? I have a ati 4670 1gig and I run gta 4 on med settings in 1680x1050
my gtx 460 768mb cant run crysis max settings. in crysis 2 barley. and the gtx 460 is better than 6770.
