How would I do it? I've already got a five figure sum but obviously have a long way to go, that's how much my dream house would cost me, don't care how long it takes as long as I have that amount at some point in my life xxxx

Put your savings into a high interest ISA account and just leave it there. Keep on putting set amounts in it each month. Instead of buying fancy clothes etc. put that money in the ISA. Put as much as you can in but whatever you do DO NOT WITHDRAW ANY AT ALL, otherwise you lose all the interest.
Give it 40yrs and you'll be good to go!

Impossible unless you make that 5 figure sum work for you , buy the cheapest house you can find and rent it out would be a start , in 10 years you will have collected whatever the house is worth in rent and then you can sell it and probably make a profit on the sale as well , £30,000 should by then have become maybe £70 or £80,000 if you get my meaning .
