Is it better to say "nostalgia" o "añoranza"?
I'm writing a poem, and one of the lines means "to live in the past." But instead of "past," I want to say either "nostalgia" or "añoranza." Which one makes more sense? Thanks! =)
En una poema que yo escribiendo, la significa de una línea es "vivir en el pasado," pero en cambio de "pasado," quiero decir "nostalgia" o "añoranza." ¿Cuál es la mejora? Gracias. =)

There are synonyms, and are used with no difference at all. "Nostalgia" is well known by any Spanish speaker, "añoranza" is used, almost exclusively in literature and poetry . It's a not a common word used in everyday speech. Fifty-fifty is far from that: 80-20 is more accurate, statistically speaking.
By the way, "pasado" is not a synonym of "nostalgia" or "añoranza". "Vivir en el pasado", means "to live in the past"-old-fashioned, but "vivir del pasado" is "vivir en/de la nostalgia/añoranza" is "to live always remembering the past", impossible to get rid of it. Something you can forget.
In a poem, both are valid, in everyday speech, i would recommend "nostalgia".
Remember that old song "those were the days, my friend..."? Well, that´s what "nostalgia/añoranza" means.
