I am an American and I have just been offered a position (and a visa) to work at a university in Edinburgh UK. The position offers £33,000 annual salary plus benefits. My only experience in the UK so far has been a brief working stint in London, so am only accustomed to that cost of living in the UK, but will 33K go a lot further in Edinburgh?
Any advice would be very appreciated.
Update:Let me clarify, they have obtained a certificate of sponsorship for me, which I will use when applying for a visa. We have passed the resident labour market test and have been allocated a restricted certificate of sponsorship. I know I'm not being scammed...
