In Australia work on $1000 a week if you live frugally. New Zealand would be the same so you would need $12000 for three months. Currently the Australia dollar gets £0.56 so you will need £6720 for three months. Round it to £6500 but you still don't have enough at £5000. £5000 will cover two months in Australia but you won't have much left for New Zealand.
I tend to calculate at £100 per day, so 91 days would need around £9,000 - £10,000 for a cheap holiday - but that would include transport and accommodation for two - but I only go as far as Europe - you might want more, especially if you drink alchohol, and stay in expensive hotels.

Is the Accommodation already paid for in that 5,000 pounds as well? IF so you will be okay, if not you will be stretching it.
I would still up that amount a bit, your talking three months, you don't know what you may come across in that time.
