I have a core 2 quad at stock speed that overclocks like abeast and when its at stock speeds, it is still a beast, love it, play whatever I want, run multiple programs, internet, dvd encoding, utorrent, video player all at the same freakin time.
I remember my celeron, I will never buy an emachines again
YES, just think about it, firstly its longer lol -^^- and it has "core 2 Duo" meaning two cores, while celeron D sucks and has only one. Quad core has 4 cores which is usually with some exceptions usually better than core 2 duo. Just more information, hope that helped.
i recommend changing both!! celeron processors are not really reliable especially for heavy use(gaming). start by changing the motherboard and processor then u might later get urself a powerfull graphics. powerfull graphics cards won't run well on low level processors, and the graphics load on the processor may break it. remember graphics use pc ressources more than anything else

Core 2 Duo kills the Celeron D. The Celeron is ancient technology by now.

Intel® Core™2 Duo contain 2 core inside it .. celeron contains one core ... 1.6 ghz core 2 dua is twice faster than Celeron D
