Soft makeup will complement you well. Seeming you do not wear a lot regularly, wearing a bold smokey eye would look 'over the top' even for a bride. I think the beautiful soft glam complements all brides well. Enhancing your natural beauty. However, it is your decision.
I would suggest soft makeup. You want something timeless so when you look at pictures years from now you don't have regrets or embarrassment surrounding how you did your makeup. If you're not skilled at makeup, do you have a friend who is? Perhaps one of your bridesmaids or someone else in the wedding party? Remember to get everything waterproof (or at least as much as possible), get a foundation shade that matches your face and neck, and blend everything well. Do at least one practice run, and if you can, take pictures (even just on a phone) in different kinds of light (take a picture or two in the bathroom, take some outside in natural light, etc.). That will help you see if there are any issues that you can address before it's your wedding day. Good luck!
Hire a professional. A few days before the big day, have a try-on to see what look would be best. Money well spent.
Soft, or little/no makeup. For someone who rarely wears makeup, a full-on smoky eyes facefull won't look like you.
Personally, I would go with something similar to your normal days. So if you don't do much makeup on normal days, don't wear much on your wedding day.
Wear a tinted moisturizer, a bit of neutral eye shadow, maybe some liner, mascara, blush, and lip gloss or lipstick. Thats it. You don't need a ton of makeup to be pretty and feel good.
If you are worried about photos, talk with your photographer about what kind of makeup they recommend so you look your best in photos.
You can go with the seasons or how hot it's going to be and the overall theme of the day. Nothing wrong with a soft, smokey eye with a hint of color to make it pop. My wedding was in October, but in California, so it was a hot one (88 degrees that day!!!) and my makeup artist, who is also my best friend, airbrushed my makeup on and used water proof and sweat proof makeup with light layers. It wasn't caked on in gobs so I wouldn't melt it all off, LOL :)
So plan around that. If your wedding is in the summer, the last thing you want is tons of makeup sweating off, so opt for a light look with good quality eye makeup and a lip stain, easy peasy. If your wedding is in cooler weather, you can get away with anything. And no matter what look you go with, make sure you use a GOOD PRIMER, even if it's just used this once. This will make sure your makeup won't budge or smudge throughout the day. Good luck :)
Don't use makeup if you feel uncomfortable. It's better to have a natural look.
