If you believe a god can pop into existence from nothing, and then magic everything else into existence, why is it hard for you to understand the Big Bang?
Only theists believe the universe was "popped" into existence from nothing. If someone believes god created the universe, I'm pretty sure they also believe he created man.
So where does anyone claim the Universe Popped into existence from "Nothing".
The mechanism behind the "Big Bang" is unclear and has never been explained.
If you wish to say a God™ created the Universe from nothing and humans from dust, you must first prove a Creator God™.
We are all dust. Ancient Star Dust from the beginnings of the formation of Stars. Exploding Mega Stars produced all the elements that make up the Sun, the Earth and by extension every thing living on Earth.
Try not to take everything you read in the Bible (etc.) too literally; spiritual matters are not the same as physical/temporal one, and much of the Bible was removed and distorted by the early church. There is still much wisdom and truth in it, of course.

The Christian cleric who formulated big bang theory never mentioned god being involved in the process of creating the universe.

It isn't the dust. There is no valid reason to accept that a God exists.
There was never a state of absolute nothingness. The energy that makes up our universe has always existed in some form.
I don't believe the universe popped into existence from nothing, I accept the Big Bang as the most valid current model of cosmology.
