If two vectors have the same magnitude and direction, but their degrees do not add up to 90°, are they equal?

In my physics book, it stated that if two vectors have the same magnitude and direction then they are equal, but on a sample question, the answer was that two vectors with 100m and 30°/60° (in the same direction) are equal.

My question is are they equal only because they add up to 90° and are in the same direction, or are they equal just because they are in the same direction and the 90° was simply a coincidence.
