If the republican/conservative philosophy is ‘Keep government out of our lives”? Then why do they insist the public schools having prayer? It is not the schools responsibility to save your immortal soul. That should be solely the parents’ and what ever church you attend responsibility. Government religion is nothing that we need or want. What if the general public wanted to all churches to teach geometry or Darwinism? Faith is personal choice. What do you think?

I think that you have explained perfectly what the Republican or neoconservative philosphy is, but that is not really what the conservatives, like me, think.
I am an atheist conservative (Libertarian), and I think that religion is a complete crock of ****.
I think that true conservatives would argue that praying in school should be legal but not enforced. Many Republicans today are exasperated with the number of RINO's we find. It stands for Republican in name only. On the other hand I do think it's reasonable to ask that some facets of intelligent design are taught because the evidence for Evolution has holes that can be neatly plugged by a God. To ignore one branch of natural philosophy completely is never a good idea.
It is not forcing the public school to have prayer but the freedom to do so. As it stands students and/or teachers are not allowed to have an organized prayer group, which for the record, would not be forced upon anyone to attend. That is the irony, that the school system can squelch one persons freedom for the sake of someone else freedom who is not required to attend. So who's right's are being trampled on?
if the left wants government out of a female's body and allow her to abort as many fetuses as humanly possible, why do these same leftists now want obama to control their entire body and health ? Why do you want the federal government to know about every wart (in the case of liberals, genital warts) on your body.?
By the way, conservatives don't insist on prayer in the schools. The jews and other hateful leftists want to remove prayer from the schools. There is a difference. The jews and left want to ban voluntary prayer. The Conservatives merely want to keep the jews in the ACLU from banning prayer.
Because it is a religious right to pray in school. We're not asking for administrators to force children to pray, but allow those who want to to do so. Unfortunately, in some schools children who pray are singled out and asked not to do so because it "offends" those who are of other religions. Government is interfering in our lives by (again) telling us what we can and can not do. Your right, faith is personal choice which is why the government shouldn't take our person choices away.
Is this 1972? This hasn't been a realistic issue for the GOP in nearly 30 years. The most we've ever asked for is just a moment of silence, which liberals seem to have an issue with. For what reason, I'm clueless. Move forward to the times, please.
there is really no difference between the democratic party and republican party in terms of laws enacted and actions. The primary difference is in their rhetoric. The dem. party says it wants to end war but committs more troops to wars. The repub. party says it wants less government but has no problem with "necessary" bail-outs or prescription drug programs etc...
If they wanted government out of our lives they'd push for an end to public schools altogether.
i grew up with school prayer and we were also taught respect and moral values, you need to read the REAL deal on seperation of church and state, what it really says is the government should not interfere in the church, not the other way around, i didnt like it when God was taken out of the schools , that was part of the reason our nation went down the dumper, sorry its just the facts. i could care less about left wing immoral agenda, they want God out, but we never took him out, the liberal agenda did. and a woman named madylyn murry ohare. , who was full of hate. read up on her sometime. she is a fine example of why we need God back.
Who does? I'm an atheist. These stories are few and far between. But if you watch Liberal Media you will believe there are Religious Boogeymen everywhere.
Libertarians or Conservatives are not like Liberals. We believe in individuality, not group think. Liberals all think the same.
