Attempts were made to enslave American Indians, but usually they died of Wrstern diseases too quickly. Africans usually lasted longer, 5 years or so. There were definitely European slaves, too. Cromwell sold his POWs by the 10s of thousands, mostly to Barbados.

The only choice these people had was to endure slavery or to commit suicide. While there is life there is hope so I assume many lived inn hope that one day somehow they would be free of slavery. There were white people who abhorred slavery who helped slaves escape to freedom in the northern states and many who tried to escape but in a society controlled by slave owning whites there was little chance of escape without the help of the few whites who would help.

I am sure if you were a slave in the hopeless conditions the slaves in the southern US states had to endure you would fight for every day of life you could get. It is easy to say I would kill myself rather than be a slave but in reality very few people would.

Tell that to the Europeans who were sold into slavery in Arab nations and Africa!

By the way 90% of the people living in the US are effectively owned by the banks. Most of their income is taken by the banks and some do not even have enough money to eat well on. I am not sure if it is the government taking about 1/3 their pay or the banks taking 50 to 60% of what is left over after the government gets their cut. Both claim to own us!

You really need to study a little about slavery. American Indians enslaved other American Indians, Whites enslaved other whites.etc. almost every culture has enslaved members of their own culture as well as other cultures.

Black people were not the only ones enslaved by whites.
