Update:so if he invested half of the 9th year salary at compound interest of 8% per annum, what is the value after 10 years and how do you show it?

10,000 + (350 X 8) = 10,000 + 2,800 = 12,800.
12800 10,000 the first year then 8 x 350 to get the rest.
$60k per twelve months for a single guy or woman is extremely good money for somebody living in Kansas. KS is low fee which potential you've gotten lots extra money to spend. in case you pass to California, Florida, Connecticut or Colorado although, 60K won't get you even close as much because it is going to in KS.
9 x 350 = 3150 + 10000
Total = 13150
