Jesus is a god but he is not Almighty God and there is a difference. Jesus also refer to Jehovah as his God and Father. The A part of 1 Corinthians 15:24 says: Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father Jesus knows the difference.
In John 17:3 when praying to his Father Jesus said that they might know you the only TRUE God. What does only TRUE God means. The definition of a god is a being with more that natural powers or abilities, so true in this context would mean the only one who has supernatural powers. Jesus being God's only begotten Son was given more than natural powers to perform miracles, and life in himself to raise the dead back to life. Jesus is therefore a mighty god, but his Father alone is the only Almighty God.
Jehovah and Christ Jesus have made it very clear in the Bible who they are, and no matter how people may try to make it something other than what it is, it is not going to change. No need to keep showing scripture after scripture. Jehovah is the One Almighty God, Christ Jesus is his son. Because of his father's love and his love for humans he gave his life willingly so that if we repent and turn our live to serving his Father, we can gain everlasting life. It's really not hard to understand. Look at it in humans terms. A father starts a business, his son joins him in that business, the son goes out to promote the business, he represents his father, and he's excellent at it, he know how his father think, and perform the job just as his father because they are in harmony, in unity with one another, they are one in accord with each other. Yet, the people who he is dealing with still knows his father owns and started the business, and the loyal son never tries to usurp his father's position. Jehovah is the Father, Christ Jesus is the Son.
The problem for trinitarians is that it's not a question of "IF" but SINCE the FATHER is the only true God that excludes everyone else from being God, including Jesus!
After being accused of making himself 'a god' at John 10:30-37.
(I'm sorry if your Bible reads "God", John left out the definite article 'the' before god, thus according to Greek grammar it should actually say 'a god'.)
Jesus uses Psalms 82:6 and equates his godship to the human judges who are both gods and sons.
That was exactly why his trial was such a farce. Malachi had just ended the old testament by saying God would smear dung from their offerings on their faces and curse their seed unto the last generation, carry them off with it and throw them on the manure pile, if they dared to bring old chewy mutton rather than young tender lamb as offerings to "God". They were forced to pay taxes through the teeth on these religious celebrations like Passover, where he turned over their money tables and called them liars, thieves, murderers, and hypocrites. They killed him for saying I am, when that's what they said, in his trial he brought up the verse you are gods, all of you, sons of the most high. He was saying he was the one and only son of God because he was fighting for good, the greater good, they were fighting for themselves, evil.
According to Isaiah 9:6, other titles, in addition to “Prince of Peace,” were to be added to the glorious name of Jesus Christ. One of these titles was to be “Mighty God.” He was not to be called almighty God, as though he were a coequal member of a trinity of gods. Even on his resurrection day, he let it be known that he was still inferior to Jehovah. He made an appearance to Mary Magdalene and sent her to inform his anxious disciples that he was returning to their Father and his Father and to their God and his God. (John 20:17) Down to this very day, he continues to lead all creation in the worship of the “God of gods,” Jehovah. (Daniel 11:36)

The father + the son + the holy spirit = the only true God, because they're one!
The old testament talsk about "the word" too, but in the new testament the word would flesh.
The word = Jesus, the son.
There's a reason for Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let US (!!!) make man in our image, after OUR (!!!) likeness:
Later he came as human to us, so read John 1:14 And the WORD was made FLESH (Jesus), and dwelt among us,

In effect denying that he is God.
.
God IS God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is the son of God, but he is God-like as he rules in heaven with his father.
