For a long time now I’ve been very interested in joining the U.S. army infantry in the future. And I would really like to be 11b. Now the only thing I’m worried about is the asvab. From posts I’ve seen with similar questions like this, people have given answers saying that as long as you pass the asvab that’s all that matters. However on the army website it’s saying you need 90 on your asvab. Personally and I’ll be honest I don’t think I’m capable of a high score like that.
So is it true? As long as I pass with a decent score that’s all that matters? Or do I actually need a 90 on my asvab?

Dylan,
11B is about as low on the totem pole as it gets. Here are the types of jobs you can get in the civilian sector will 11B. This is from the US Army website (see comments).
the lowest passable score really
I was in the Army and can absolutely tell you without a doubt your score will be good enough to be a grunt. I was infantry and I have encountered people that are so stupid I'm unsure how they stay alive through the day. The fact you were able to type your question shows me you have what it takes. Good luck and keep your head down. You will be fine!
Give me a break. If your not a spy or traitor try cash if your that worried. It's the army. They respect that. You're not joining a church you know.
Did you graduate high school, and somewhat pay attention?? If so, you should be fine. As we used to say, if you're warm under the armpits, you're Army material.
The Army requires a minimum AFQT Score of 31 to qualify for enlistment. To qualify for certain enlistment incentives, such as enlistment bonuses, an Army recruit must score a minimum of 50.
The actual pass mark is in the 30's, but, to be accepted into the US military these days takes a score of at least 50.
the minimum ASVAB score required to Enlist for the Army is 31. but your composite or line scores actually help determine what specific jobs you qualify for.
here's a site that breaks down that information.
