I have used third party controllers for every system. I have bought them from bargain bins with very low prices. The quality is not really the issue, nor is the usability. It is the preference. Also, if a controller only costs that much, it's not a big loss, either way. If it works, it could always be used as an extra controller for when a buddy comes over to play. I usually always buy third party controllers, because they save me atleast a 3rd of the price, so that means more money in my pocket, with products that work just as good. I once bought 4 Xbox controllers... each of them were $4 each. I wasn't too worried... but they all worked abslutely fantastic, straight from the bargain bin. Now I have enough controllers for the partiers to come over and have a go.
if i were you, i would try it. with a bit of luck, it ll work from the beginning, and even if it's turned out to be crap it will last 1-2 months. $3 for a controller is pretty good price. of course there's the risk of being useless from the beginning. You call
