I have networked XP and 2008 server but I can’t save from XP to 2008 server?
I have windows XP as my client and windows 2008 as my server but if I save file from windows XP (client), it gives me an error As :
you do not have permission to save in this directory on windows 2008 server. see the administrator to obtain permission

1) Is your XP computer a member of the domain?
2) If it is: does the user account you're using have read and write permissions on the share you're trying to use, If its not a member of the domain make sure a mirror of the username you're using exists on the server
Quick solution (not really secure):
Right click on the share you're trying to use (on the server), click sharing and security, click permissions, grant everyone read and write.
