This doesn't make any sense. Of course your Oyster is always usable and you can top it up at any time. The day for capping starts at 4.30 am and runs until 4.29 am next day, so if you use it at 1 am, that's counted as part of the day before.
Daily Oyster cards are valid from 4.30a.m. on one day until 4.29a.m. the following day. Regardless of the time you bought it on the 19th, it will expire at 4.29 a.m. on the 20th. This information is on the TFL website.

The Oyster cap means yiu will never spend more than £4.50 in a day however much you travel.
