You tell the Judge what you've told us. MOST LIKELY the child support will be reduced for the period of time you weren't working with the stipulation that it will be raised once you are again receiving checks.
NOW I HAVE TO SAY - it seems like every non-custodial parent is complaining about paying support. It is refreshing to find someone who understands how the law works, how/why child support orders are issued, someone who actually finds a job so he/she can support his/her children! Seriously - you are a refreshing change!
Be honest, you lost your job so you asked for a modification, that is what you should do. You now have once again found work, so the new order should be based on your income from this job. That/this is how the system is suppose to work. The custodial parent should also be going back every three years or so, as your situation and carrier change. After all, if the child was with you their life would change as yours does/did.

You tell your EMPLOYER you can't show up because you WILL be in court. You tell the JUDGE whatever is relevant to the case.

If you don't show up you will lose. You need to tell your boss why you have to be gone.
