Please help me with this physics problem?
A person weighting 750 n is sitting in a swing. The swing is pulled sideways until the rope makes an angle of 35º with the vertical. What is the tension on the rope?
Okay so could you please explain me what I am supposed to do? I have no idea of what formula to use......? Please do help me!! Thanks!!
Oh and the answer is supposed to be 890 n

The force of gravity = 750 N is acting downward. This must be balanced by the vertical component of the rope's tension.
Thus:
(Rope Tension)^2 = (750)^2 + (750tan 35º)^2
= 56,250 + 27,560 = 83,810
Rope Tension = 289.5 N
