I just moved to NC from ME and am having trouble with finding a job in my area. I don’t get why. I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Human Services, I have a lot of experience working with adults who have disabilities and mental health issues and I have a clean record .Im looking for a part time job because I’m in a Masters program for Social Work and I want to focus on school. I usually look for jobs that are related to my field however I’m not having any luck. The jobs are either full time, too far away ( like 1hour 30 mins or more) or their work schedule conflicts with my school schedule. I went to a couple interviewers and they usually like my resume, my responses to their questions and say the will get in touch with me. Days and weeks will go by and I never hear from them again. I have gone to the Career Center at my school and showed them my resume. They said that with my experiences, there should be no reason why places wouldn’t consider me. I’m trying really hard not to let this discourage me but I can’t help but think I’m doing something wrong.

READ what you have written here and you'll find your own answer! Serious employers are NOT looking for someone with your skill set to work PART-TIME! Either accept a full time job in your desired career field, or find something else to work at until you complete your Masters program.
They like you but you have terrible availability (based on what you wrote, easy to assume).
You need jobs for college students, not a job in your field...you might find one, but it wont be easy.
The problem is likely your restricted availability. Could you take some of your classes online to improve that?
Use the job boards. Indeed.com is a good one.
Can you perhaps start your own business as an aide to people in your immediate community? Getting a business card printed is not expensive---any office supply shop can do it for you for as low as $10. Check with NC's Secretary of State for grants the state offers to get new businesses started, and then maybe try the Small Business Association in your area to get information on how to get things started.
There's a nationwide group of retired business people that offers advice: SCORE. If you do your own business, you get to declare tax deductions for your car, your travel, your home if that's your operating base, etc. Once you get a few clients, word of mouth referrals can help you expand. Check with the IRS on the different programs they have (like Subchapter S, where any profits are turned back into the business---even as a higher salary for the worker/s---so that no taxes are paid).
You are doing something wrong. These people want full time work, they don't want a part timer, if they did then they would advertise as part time. So what is the point of applying, do you expect them to change the hours just for you ?
I think it's probably your availability... part time, can only work around school schedule etc. Most jobs want someone who can work whenever needed. Good luck!
