Cruz will be remembered as the most hated man in the Senate. Even other Republicans cannot stand him. The others? It'll take 50 years or so for a majority opinion to emerge among historians.
Men who took a stand when they believed our Freedoms were being taken away by one party. Or men who had the discernment to see that both Republicans and Democrats were too corrupt for them to not stand up against. At least they weren't turn coats as other Republicans. When the fight gets hot, you can't give up. Seventy-four million(probably 80 million) people knew that this election was rigged and at least Trump, Cruz and Hawley stood up and said "Congress - do something." But as usual, what does Congress do - blames Trump for everything that happened Jan. 6, when thousands of Americans were asking Congress to do something.
Well, your question requires the somewhat audacious assumption by all of us, including the somewhat pompous George Will if he actually said what a respondent reported, that we are able to predict what historians will say and that they will be unified in their assessment. Also that we are able to predict the futures of such intelligent people as Ted Cruz. I would *guess* that in the short run, Cruz will lose some influence and probably have problems getting re-elected. He has, however, been able to survive other debacles and come back mostly unscathed. As for the other two guys, I don't know enough about them, even to hazard a guess. As for the certainty with which many people on this forum assert their biases, I would say that their immodesty knows no bounds.
George Will, a CONSERVATIVE columnist with the Washington Post put it quite aptly, "Trump, Cruz and the rest of their gang should be made to wear the Scarlet "S" for sedition for the rest of their natural lives".
