Colin Powell went on Meet the Press this morning to announce that he was going to vote for Barack Obama in this election. He gave a very detailed reason on why he felt that Obama was a better choice and also talked about the direction that the GOP was going. Will his decision affected the McCain campaign in any way?

ABC poll: 32% say it will have a effect and 14% has said it will be worse. 46% doesn't care.
People who know McCain pretty well are sort of concerned about him. He's not all that bright - and he's emotionally unstable. Several Republican Senators came out against him earlier in the campaign!! He's a NUT!
To my knowledge, this has never happened before in this country that any party has run such a useless candidate that those from his own party come out one after another to oppose him.
Now if he wins we'll know it voter fraud!
Obama - the Next President. Then no more Republican Lies like Colin Powell was persuaded to tell by brainless Li'l Bush!
I believe it will have some effect on GOP, because, a lot of people believe that if Colin Powell, who is #1, one of McCains close friends,#2, who is not only a Gop in very high standing, but #3, one of great intellect, Now goes and votes for the opponent, why would it not effect the votes for the McCain campaign to some degree?
I think it will. Colin Powell is a very sensible, level headed, intelligent, and respected man. People will take that into consideration when deciding if they're not sure which way to go. It seems like a real blow to the GOP but then, a lot of stuff coming out is.
see each and each individual tries to place stress on the different participant the two bodily and mentally.. greater often than not they r finished privately yet some cases in front of the demonstrate... whilst they try this, they attempt to instruct the standard public distinctive rumours with regard to the opponent and that they r greater healthful to win... ya , u r top,, powell's endorsement might have result on the inhabitants, yet... it there r very few people who take those issues heavily and vote for yet another individual........
It wont because people know Powell is only looking out for himself. The fact that he endorsed Obama and sent a check to help with McCain's campaign says it all.
He's 1 vote, so if Obama wins by 1 vote, then Powell played a role in the election***
It probably won't change anything. It's not like people are going to see Powell backing Obama and say, "Oh, now I trust Obama because Colin does."
Colin Powell was always a RINO- Republican-In-Name-Only
Won't change my vote. McCain '08
Probably not at all. The news will dominate the media for a day or two. Everyday Obama can dominate the headlines is a day lost to McCain. Given that McCain is relying upon free coverage to get his message out...that's a big deal.
I'm waiting to see how many Republicans - who've spent months claiming to respect Powell - will turn on him like a rabid dog.
Thanks for the thread. We are getting ever so close to it being the 50th time this question has appeared since this morning.
EDIT FOR PEZRA: Got news for you buddy...they already tax groceries here in South Dakota.
BTW: Most of the flagrantly insulting and crude posters are not even of voting age. If they are of voting age, they should get a life. Quit shilling for both of the candidates and start talking REAL issues, not YouTube and Photochop...and endless race talk. You people can dish the smack, but you can't take any hits yourselves. And remember, on the internet nobody can see that you are 14.
