1/5 off £75?
How would I work this out?
There's two ways to work this out.
1.
You divide the number (£75) by the denominator (bottom number) and the multiply it by the numerator (top number)
£75 / 5 = £15
£15 * 1 = £15
£75 - £15 = £60
2.
1/5 is the same as 20% off.
If 10% of £75.00 is equal to £7.50 then we need to double it to make it 20% off.
Therefore 20% of £75.00 is £15.00.
£75.00 - £15 = £60
1 5 75
(1/5) times 75
To work out a fraction of something you divide by the bottom and times by the top. £75 divide by 5 = £15 x1 =£15
u r joking. divide 75 by 5 then deduct that from 75.
1/5 is 20%
to get 10% of £75 write it in decimal form £75.00 then move the decimal point one place to the left.
giving £7.50, you double this to get 20%, which is £15.00, i'm sure you can deduct this from £75.00!!
