How to “work offline” and come back “on line” on a computer? Please inform in detail. What are its advantages?

When the Internet browser is opened on the computer and clicked on the file menu a choice will be displayed as “work offline”.

It may please be informed how to apply / operate and manage this command?

1. Can we disconnect the Internet connection after applying this command and continue to work (eg., typing ) on the page during the “off line” period?

2. Can we come back to the same page to “work online” by connecting to the Internet again, without losing the data we have worked / stored on the page during the “off line” period?

3. Incase we have shut down the computer after disconnecting the Internet ( eg. in case of sudden power failure etc. ), while "working Offline", the procedure to be followed to work “off line” or “on line” with out our matter ( eg., typing ) on the page being lost, when the power is restored?

Detailed information may be given on the above subject / topic as the query is in the interest of a layman who is not having much computer knowledge.
