Jesus Christ referred to him as being “the ruler of the world,” the one whom mankind in general obeys by heeding his urgings to ignore God’s requirements. (John 14:30; Eph. 2:2) The Bible also calls him “the god of this system of things,” who is honored by the religious practices of people who adhere to this system of things.—2 Cor. 4:4; 1 Cor. 10:20.
When endeavoring to tempt Jesus Christ, the Devil “brought him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the inhabited earth in an instant of time; and the Devil said to him: ‘I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it. You, therefore, if you do an act of worship before me, it will all be yours.’” (Luke 4:5-7) Revelation 13:1, 2 reveals that Satan gives ‘power, throne and great authority’ to the global political system of rulership. Daniel 10:13, 20 discloses that Satan has had demonic princes over principal kingdoms of the earth. Ephesians 6:12 refers to these as constituting ‘governments, authorities, world rulers of this darkness, wicked spirit forces in heavenly places.’
No wonder that 1 John 5:19 says: “The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” But his power is only for a limited period of time and is only by the toleration of Jehovah, who is God Almighty.

Satan the Devil is to blame for every human death which has ever occurred.
The Scriptures teach that God currently tolerates Satan's killing of humans; Satan kills by means of Adamic sin, debauched conditions in Satan's world, and personally or by demons.
(Job 1:12-19) Jehovah said to Satan: "Look! Everything that [Job] has is in your hand. Only against him himself do not thrust out your hand!" So Satan went out away from the person of Jehovah. 13 Now it came to be the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother the firstborn. ...18 [A servant of Job] came and proceeded to say: "Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother the firstborn. 19 And, look! there came a great wind from the region of the wilderness, and it went striking the four corners of the house, so that it fell upon the young people and they died.
The Scriptures teach that Satan is inclined to kill humans, and prevent the salvation of individuals.
(John 8:44) You are from YOUR father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him.
(1 Peter 5:8) Your adversary, the Devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking to devour someone.
If Adam and Eve had never sinned, the Scriptures teach that they never would have died. When Satan targeted Eve and Adam to become sinners, Satan knew that mankind would NOT continue to have everlasting life. Thus Satan is really to blame for every human death that has ever occured.
(Genesis 2:16,17) Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: "From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die."

Jehovah is eager to undue everything that the Devil has done, and Jehovah has assigned Jesus Christ to perform this restoration. It will be accomplished soon.

Those who do not believe that the earth will be restored to Edenic paradise conditions seem too-quick to believe that a lowly creature (such as Satan) could actually CHANGE the divine purposes of Almighty Jehovah God. Jehovah put mankind in paradise earth, and Jehovah will make sure that mankind lives forever in paradise earth, despite a delay which will shorter and shorter as human lifetimes extend toward infinity.

KEEP IN MIND that the devil can only speak LIES, it is his native language and he knows no other. He didn't have power to make Jesus ruler over the world, no one has to or can give God permission to be God. JESUS CHRIST IS GOD!

Well he has been in the White House since Reagan was elected. and his hand is still stiring the pot. I am sure that soon enough the ones that have been blinded by his words will awaken... Because the ones that can only hear with there ears and can not see with there eyes are the first ones in the pit. This Country was founded on God, now if you think there is no God, to me that is good more room for me at his table, but you might be a little short sided ... Whit your knowledge, and devotion it seams you profess to God, and his Son Jesus Christ, much of your understanding, and desires to become exactly what God which for everyone of us to do, achieved and accomplish.(to become) which I can see and perceived within your writing. The least you know about Satan's power in this earth, the better you will be prepared to encounter him in the future?, Why?, simply because in this time and age, the changes God is doing are Gigantic, and the time for Satan to answer HIM(God), and realize that he is doom to take over the hell hole, (he) Satan, is against taking in command, in exchange to continue pestering, God creation are coming to an end soon. The only scary thing about satan is the immense power that Christians give to the idea of some evil creature being the reason for everything different from themselves.
Even though Satan, just like "God" couldn't and doesn't exist, I guess the idea of Satan influences people to act a certain way or do certain things. So Satan, being nonexistent, is powerless; the concept of Satan might have some power.
He has as much power over people as Jesus does. His influence is biggest in crime and music. Satan wants us to kill and other crimes.
His biggest power in today's world is music. Norwegian death metal? Black metal? Slayer? Marilyn Manson? Everyone of them (maybe not Slayer or Manson, even though Manson was a priest of the Church of Satan, even though it isn't confirmed whether or not he believes.) wants to be like him in their imagery, in ther lyrics: they want to inspire people to turn away from God and be like Satan.
Satan and God are always at war with each other, and so far, it's a tie for who can get more people.

His current title is President of the United States.
Satan is almost supremely powerful on Earth today. The only hope comes from the fact that he has already been defeated. That happened at the Cross. God bless.
