While pressing the Alt key, type the numbers 0172 on your numeric keypad.
Or you can do this (Windows XP):
Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> System Tools --> Character Map
On the Character Map window, select the ¬ symbol. On the status bar (bottom right-side of the window), you will see "Keystroke: Alt+0172". You can then press the 'Select' button followed by the 'Copy' button. The symbol is now copied to your "scratch-pad memory". Now go to your target document then "Paste" or press 'Ctrl+V'.
