If anyone guarantees you 2.5% a month or more, run the other way. That is 25% annually. The only investment that earned anywhere near that much was stocks during the "go-go" 90's and we all saw what happened to the stock market. Just so you know, over its history, the stock market returns 8% annually and is one of the better risk/reward investments you can make. Anything above this has a high risk factor which makes the chance of losing money that much higher.
As for a 10% return monthly...only in your wildest dreams and then, maybe only for one month (expect a decline or flat the next month). There is no investment that can guarantee that you will double your money in less than a year
It's not hard to find people that will "guarantee" a high rate of return on an investment. Guarantees like that are a common tactic that people running Ponzi schemes use to lure in suckers.
Actually getting a reliable rate of return at that rate is another thing entirely.
But it's no problem finding people trying to con you out of your money.
It's really easy to make that kind of return on £5000, you just can't do it passively. £5000 is good start-up capital for a small business. For instance for £5000 you could buy a white board, set up a website, get hourly conference room space and start tutoring math to high school kids. It would be quite easy to bring in £500/month doing that in your spare time.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing. These types of returns require you to undertake substantial risk mostly in the form of day trading or investing in an inherently high risk type of assets
Toni, if you want to come across as knowing what you're talking about just try answering the questions. Not every question has anything to do with annuities and whole life insurance. We get that you don't like them. BUT, it's 'be careful WHO you trust.' Not 'whom.' The proper use of 'whom' would be, "be careful of whom you would trust." Whom is not the subject of a sentence.

Nobody can guarantee that. Nobody.
People have achieved that from time to time. But nobody can guarantee it.

It's not possible.
