Go to the library or the news paper.They may have it on Microfilm i have a whole book of headlines. and a herald examiner from la california from that era.

Many libraries have local newspaper archives. I don't know if they go back that far though. Also the newspaper's offices may have archived copies available.

Go to google enter the newspaper that you want and the date that you want. You will receive your information.
