I am an American and want to spend two months in Montréal next year. As far as pocket money, can I wait till I'm in Canada and exchange USD for CAD there, or should I go ahead and do that here? Where are some places where I can change the currency I'm carrying?
Also, is it possible to use my Visa Debit Card while in Montréal--and the currency is automatically converted--or is there some sort of limbo I have to place my money in, in CAD, while I'm using my card for these two months?

I wouldn't worry much. If you fly to Montreal, there will be an ATM in the terminal where you can withdraw local currency. (I've used my ATM card in the Istanbul airport with no trouble.)
I wouldn't fret too much about exchange rates- they'll change every day. If you get a weeks worth of money today, and the rate gets better tomorrow, you'll be kicking yourself. If you get a day's worth of money today, and the rate gets worse tomorrow, you'll be kicking yourself. If you have a reliable crystal ball that can guarantee what the rates will be like, become a currency trader. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy yourself.
You can change money anywhere ..between the US and Canada probably every bank
be careful with cards though ...their exchange rate will really favor them
I uses this company when I bring in money from the UK
