How about donating to LÖSEV for kids with leukemia?

Me and My family donate a sacrifice animal to a Charity every year and I believe it serves a very good purpose since there are still millions in our country who gets a chance to consume meat once a year, on Sacrifice Bayram's.

Being an animal lover and an animal rights supporter, i believe we are mixing two issues together: torturing animals, killing them for so called hunting sport or for their furs is a complete crime and totally unacceptable but since almost all of us eat meat or meat products and use animal by- products i.e. leather seats, shoes and bags or even like fruit cakes covered with jello- the one who does none can only object to my words - I personally think that it is a good way of helping the poor .

On the other hand, LOSEV not only needs "kurban" donations but medication and cash to provide the necessary, I think whomever can afford to sacrifice an animal can also afford to make some cash donations, too.

Therefore, I agree with you and would like to remind friends also to donate little amounts of cash all year round - not only at religious times.

I agree that donation to LÖSEV would be really nice. This would be a better idea than to share with only your neighbors.

But i can't resist to say how surprised i am to see some friends' comments.

This is something people do in order to honor their beliefs. I find it very disrespectful to say those are "useless" or even "stupid". Everyone is responsible for their lives. And the line separating them is respect.

@Edit: Blunt,i'm with you that it sometimes only a show off,that there are people who save all the meat for themselves which kills the spirit to sacrifice an animal.But that won't harm the meaning of it. Only makes those people disingenuous.

However,we have to see the otherside as well. Government has to take precautions for the performance of it. Arrange suitable places people can do it without polluting streets.We can't compare americans' little turkeys with bulls and sheep.

i live near Memphis, Tennessee where the hospital St. Jude is. i donate to that organization all year long. the donation of meat comes from deer that my family kill each year. we process it and give to the food pantry that is in my town. giving should be all year long.

Blunt i have to tell you i find this sacrificing animals ritual very stupid. We can make donations to a lot of places instead of buying a sheep.

Being a good citizen and a human being doesn't mean doing the things dictated but really helping others.

I might get thumbs down for saying that but i see nothing good in sacrificing animals.

There are people who are struggling with cancer,AIDS there are people who need organ donations etc etc...

There are animals that need shelters, there are people all around the world that need help.

My vote is for LOSEV this year.

i think HAC should be the same. ppl should stop going to hac and spend their money in Turkey instead. some ppl just really annoys me going to hac. giving money to arabs. instead of doing something for his own poor.
