I have gone to a reputable small Garage which is a member of the Good Garage Scheme. However, I feel as though I have had poor service.
I specifically asked the receptionist to call me when a diagnosis had been done as I am going to be getting a new car in the next few months. I never got a call, other than one saying my car was ready for collection and it was £88.15 (including VAT) for checking for water leaks, fitting a new radiator and putting antifreeze in. When I queried this they said it was an error and was such a great price for the new radiator, they just did it!
I feel as though I should have had the chance to shop around if the work really needed doing. Have I been badly treated, and does the cost of £88.15 seem reasonable?

that seems amazingly low for replacing a radiator on any car. I'm guessing they didn't replace the radiator. Perhaps a thermostat? radiator hose?
BUT, you should have been able to refuse the service- no matter what it was, or how much it would be. I think you need to find out exactly what was and wasn't done, and I'd probably avoid going back to this shop again. That is bad business to spend a customers money without their approval.
Replacing a radiator on my Infiniti I30 (a twin sister to the Nissan Maxima) here in the States cost me the equivalent of £180, and a dealer would ask roughly three times as much, so it appears you got the Screaming Deal of the Year.
