How about doing chores for friends, family, and neighbors? Do they need their leaves picked up? Or maybe the snow shovelled? Possibly you could walk dogs or pet sit for neighbors. Instead of a car wash, you could do car interior detailing, wipe all surfaces, vacuum the floor and seats, clean the windows, clean the steering wheel. While they wait you could offer hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies for sale as well. Or consider selling gingerbread men or sugar cookies by the dozen, decorate them well, and you could make some good money. People love decorated gingerbread men and cookies, but many people don't have the time to make them at this time of year.
If 14 is legal working age in Minnesota then you will need a work permit... talk to your school's counselor. With that said, you may be too young to work for an employer but you can use your skills and passions in your own business. You will need to find a need a fill it. Check with your library for books like "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew. Teens make more money working for themselves and their parents than they make working for employers. Doesn't 100% of profits after taxes and expenses are paid sound better to you than $6, $7 or whatever minimum wage is??? You can network with other teens at Junior Achievements... see link below. Google keywords like teen entrepreneurs, teens and money, business for young people, etc. You can find the right industry just by looking at your local paper. What do people want/need??? What can YOU do to solve those problems??? Don't wait for your ship to come in ... swim out to meet it.
Ohlala, bake sales always rock the house. :)
And talent shows. Well, I guess car washes are outta the question since it's winter, but if you have the guts for that, go for it! X] Good luck
We used to shovel snow, but that relies heavly on if
it has snowed
