Ok. We found a abandoned Kitten in our yard today. It is CLEARLY abandoned because it has very little meat on him. And it looks as if he hasent eaten in weeks. And I've heard that if u rescue a animal and bring it into the Vet, that the vet will check him out for Free. Is that true? My mom doesn't wanna have to spend possibly a sh*tload of money to have him/her checked out.
Update:WE DON'T WANNA JUST KEEP HIM. WE WANT HIM CHECKED OUT FIRST

Aw poor little guy! Unfortunately i havent heard of a vet checking out an animal for free unless its dumped at their office and they take it in. If u dont plan on keeping him u can take him to an animal shelter to be cared for and to find a good home. If u do plan to keep him, what id advise to do for now to save your mom some $, is to buy some frontline plus for cats or kittens that are under 5 pounds or less. And get a liquid dewormer from the vet called Stron-gid, for kittens under 5 pounds. Even if he doesnt have fleas or worms id get it just to be safe! For now deflea and dewormer are most important to getting him healthier. Then later on when your mom can afford it, make an appointment to get his vaccinations, do not let him get his rabies shot, till hes at least 6 months old, it could kill him if he gets it sooner. By the way its really nice of u and your mom to rescue him, he needs somebody to care about him! Good luck hope everything works out!
Yep, I agree with Naemama (sp), it was meant to be! Hope you can keep it. But yea feed it first see how it does. Check its stool to see if you see any rice looking things in it. If you see that then the kitten has worms. I have never heard of a vet that checked kittens out for free. I worked at one for four years, and they pretty much charge you for everything. If anything call your local shelter to see if they have a discounted vet that you can go to. It will need shots soon anyways.

It sounds like the kitten requires some TLC and a roof over its head to keep it warm and safe. I guess the kitten is depending on your family to save its life. Please don't let the little kitten down like the previous owners did. Start by feeding the emaciated kitten Royal Canin Wet Recovery Food

I don't know if a vet will check out the cat for free, that seems a bit far-fetched. But I do know that some vets will allow you to pay in installments (payments, like on a car), or a post-dated check. Things like that, but you still have to pay.
feed the kitty aznd show it love! hope u want a new family member :)
take it to the rspca
