Hi, I am having difficulties in doing this question:
Find the equation of the line tangent to
y = x / √( 2 - x^2 ) at (1, 1)
Could someone please explain to me how to do this question?
Thanks!
You have to find the 1st derivative of this function and evaluate it at x=1. This gives you the value of m, the slope. Next you need to find the equation of the line. Use the point slope form
y-y1=m(x-x1) where (x1,y1)=(1,1)
