First you need to determine the delta H and delta S for the reaction. Use the table in the back of your book to look up the values of each reactant and product. Then subtract the reactants from the products.
Ex: Delta H = (-634.9(CaO)+-393.5(CO2)) - (-1207.6 (CaCO3)) = 179.2 kJ
Do the same thing for Delta S but make sure you use the correct units. Delta S is in Joules so you may need to convert. Once you have those values, plug into the equation below!
Delta G= Delta H - T * Delta S
If anyone knows where the magic numbers of Hf and delta S can be found please tell me. I can t figure it out and I am feeling less then stupid now.
