Ok so my cat is my baby! She is the most precious cat ever and Iove her almost more then my husband, well probably more :) She is a ragdoll and very docile with the dog, not so much with me as she bites me for attention. Does not bite anyone else, just me and always at bed time when Im trying to get into bed. Anyways she is spoiled! We got a puppy and he chases her and nips at her, she has never scratched or bitten him, I think she really likes him. She does however taunt him. He stays in a crate most of the day because I work from home and he is only 13 weeks, so he cant have free reign of the house yet. His crate is not a crate its actually a pen that is pretty big. He can run around in there and chase his tail. Well he is fine in there except the cat comes lays near his crate and just taunts him. She will go down there and just yell at him. This loud kitty cry, not mean just like her I am trying to get your attention. The poor puppy gets so upset because he wants to get out and chase her. Im not sure if I should let him out to play with her when she is doing that. What do you think? Should I keep her upstairs while he is crated?
Update:OMG that picture is so funny! The cat has never slapped the dog till the other day. He bites her tail and pulls it and does not let go. So now she hits his face, except she wont retract her claws. She has never retracted her claws ever! So the dog does not get the point. He just keeps doing it because he just feels her fluffy paws hitting him.
Update 3:I love that eyjude. My cat definitely thinks she is a god around here :)

Yes my cats drives my dog crazy. He chases the dog and we also crate the dog at night and the cat sits there looking at him like "Haha I am out and your not".
I almost have to say though the cat figths with the kids more than he does the dog. I have a very vindictive kitty. I have a rule about no toys in the living room when you are done playing. My kids get told to take the upstairs and put them away. We went rounds one day because I kept getting after the kids to put the stuffed animals back upstairs. After several times and the kids of course swearing it wasn't them, I busted the cat bringing them back down. I swear he does it just to see the kids get in trouble. The bad part is he was smart enough to come up with this all on his own, and I really think he enjoys it.
That's adorable. Cat's can be such brats! My one baby kitten only likes me too. My husband can't stand her. She'll curl up to me on the couch and as soon as she hears him she takes off and hides. He likes to chase her because we have hardwoods and she'll peel out. I am constantly yelling at him to leave her alone! No wonder she hates him!
Anyhow, yes we have 2 crates, one in the garage and one in the kitchen. We have a pomeranian that doesn't like little kids so when put him in the inside one during the day if we have little visitors and in the garage one during the night. I feel bad when he can see the cats are roaming free and he is in a cage and he has a ton of fur so the garage is plenty warm for him for now. But I would make sure your crate is in a place she can't get too. They are both bored when you aren't home and want to play with eachother. :)
I have three cats (17, and 4 year-old twins) and a 3 year-old Pom mix. The dod is very high-spirited and very playful. Also very possessive of his Dad. On of the twins (the girl) can be a real demon. She lays on the floor staring at him and when he walks over she slaps him. She knocks their bags of treats of the counter or table and waits for the dog to rip them open then jumps down, shoos him away, and eats all of the treats. The poor dog always darts off.
When my dog is crated, the cats like to sit outside the crate and stare at her. I make them go away but it's a little funny- like payback for the dog chewing up their cat toys.
I've had one cat for 11 years and every time we get a puppy, she puts them in line. She does tease them, like sitting in front of a doorway and popping them in the face every time they try to get through. Your cat sounds like she's just playing with the puppy. That's good and normal.
Yep. I have on cat that my 70 pound dogs want walk past. They'll stand in the kitchen and whine until I move the cat. She keeps the foster dogs in line too:

Mine do!! My one cat likes to play with the dog's favorite toy and of course, it makes the dog jealous, so when the dog gets near the cat because he wants his toy back, the cat b*tch slaps the dog.
They (the cats) love their petty torments.
REMEMBER you feed and pet a dog ... a dog looks at you and thinks "YOUR a god!"
you feed and pet a cat and it thinks "I AM a GOD!"
Cats will do anything to be ALFA... even intimidating a LARGE dog!
