I was really surprised to see the answers of Joe and Red Dog in some of the questions that being a South African Mickey Arthur has an hidden agenda to degrade the Australian team and the latest step was to sack those four players. I wouldn’t have been surprised had it come from some trolls but because I respect both of them as users, I could only think they must be kidding; but no, they were serious or at least I felt so. I don’t always agree with their views but I respect them because they don’t copy others’ opinions and make them their own. They are what they are and are pretty much matured. But I has not expected this from them.
Nationality and professionalism are two different things. I don’t want to go in details about this one because I know matured people will understand this. Coaching is Mickey’s profession and he’ll always want that his resume is full of achievements. Why would he want Australia to lose while he’s the top person of the same team? He will be the one who will be most targeted if the team loses. His failure as a coach won’t get him good jobs in the future.
Yes, he went overboard on this issue but by no means, it’s a conspiracy.
And Joe and Red Dog, I had already typed a mail to know your views regarding this one when suddenly I thought it'll be good to know the opinions of the users as well. I've absolutely nothing against you guys and you people know that more than anyone else, not even Chitresh. I expect youl take this question sportingly. Thanx.
Your opinions please. I'd like to hear from Chitresh too. :-)
Update:I know that MBIOF and I am going to do the same. I thought of posting some stats about Sachin that laid him flat a year ago but I’m fed up of that thing now. No arguments from now on. It doesn’t change anything. You can wake up a person who is indeed sleeping but you can never wake up someone who’s pretending to be asleep.
This time, he has come up as a serious user but a leopard cannot change it's spots, nor a zebra it's stripes. We are proud to be what we are. We don't change ourselves for others. God made us the way we are for a reason. Besides, an original is always worth more than a copy. ( And this is not a useless rant) :-)

RSRD bro, I don't think it was a conspiracy.
Same coach's team beaten us by 4-0 in Australia. Real thing is, when team wins everything seems good, right and awesome but when team loses, even little things comes in limelight and makes the headlines.
Yes, some Coaches' actions looks weired/stupid sometimes but that cant be a conspiracy. However I can feel that what Joe and Red would be thinking. I felt the same when we were playing during Chappel 's tenure.
However Arthur's power-point-presentation was mother of all cricket jokes lol
Edit: If you want to see Chitraish in answerers-list, just add any random remark about Sachin/Dhoni/BCCI in your question mate. He loves that stuff. :)
No. He's just a power tripper with a control complex.
You can't bludgeon people into discipline - that has been proven by despots for 50,000 years for which there is some record of history. Rather you need to create an environment in which people want to perform.
I don't believe Arthur is right but I do believe there is a cultural issue similar to when players like Graham Yallop and Dean Jones were allowed to flourish their egos
Like him or not, he is a professional and he wouldn't do that. However, coming from a different culture would not help. Often the attitude and back chat is nothing more that taking the mickey out of him (pun not intended). Arthur probably likes things regimented with players doing what he wants when he wants. Treating players like schoolboys does not work in Aus. Same as in India, Chappell and the Gnome's coaching did not work.
I understand the issue behind dropping Watson and Pattinson since both already played the game and contributed but Johnson and Khwaja didn't even get a game so it was not right to ask their opinions on how they will improve themselves so that Australia can square the series.Disciplinary action against indiscipline is not bad but this just looks like a school boy stuff where you get expelled for not doing HomeWork.Cricket is more than just that,Australia plays it the hard way and we see it now.No point in just blaming the Coach but it really looked like a school kid stuff so its hard to believe, maybe there is something more to it than meets the eye.
It seems more like Micky and Pup trying to 'establish' their authority, which implies they were not quite sure they did carry enough authority and power over the team in the wake of the dismal losing streak. They took the step only after getting the CA bosses on their side and yet Watson showed the guts to revolt and fly back in a huff.... and now Clarke says he expects Watto will come back to play the 4th test at Delhi (does he mean Watto would become the good boy after the chiding and hiding given to him?).... it's Aussie school of cricket, is it?
Well, ‘conspiracy’ is too harsh a word; as to Joeblow, I have known him for many years and we are gud friends, but sometimes his patriotic sentiments take d better of his commonsensical sentiments. (Incidentally I too am guilty of it).
Coming back to ur q, one’d think dis was d finale of minor issues dat d coach & captain cud no longer close the eyes to….dey made a defining statement…consequences??? One has to wait and see….Now, another thing is how d management is going to handle Watson and his insolence in returning to Aus: that too can be legitimate grounds for some harsh chastisement( remember Siddhu) ….many in d cricket world will admire Mickey & Pups while a majority’d think they’d have handled it in a better way….The coach says he’s aggrieved by d attitude of the concerned players…if that’s d case he’s every reason to do what he did…add to it d fact dat someone in d CA commented about Watto’s commitment to d team..Pattinson too admits they deserved it….The coach was aware that d issue’d snowball & polarize public opinion, yet went wid it…he’s geared up to take the flak…I admire him for that….
No. His professional career would be jeapardy. His trying to do whats best but i just think that he should have waited to after the indian series. Sometimes you get well beaten. England and India have been well beaten by us in past and they just fight on til end. Thats what we should have done then disipline the whole team after by training them hard. They need to go through the hard yards for attitude after. Not during a test series.
The conspiracy is lead by another player, Mickey is only the Messenger.
It's the same as when KATS gone shafted.
Of course he does. All people from New Zealand, South Africa and England can not be trusted to be involved in any Australian team as far as being a head coach. All those countries love nothing more than to beat Australia and hate nothing more than losing to Australia.
Do you think that Gary Kirsten could have been doing a bit of that when he was coaching India given some of the tough decisions that seemed a bit harsh that happened when he was coach?
Of course.
