No I don't feel offended, but once I admit I did (foolishly) get a little annoyed. A 13 year old boy asked a serious medical question about male infertility, and I did my best to answer him, providing him with several links to look at, and even a video from a health site to watch on the subject. I thought I did a good job, because everyone else who answered gave him incomplete or inaccurate/out of date information.
When I checked back, he gave the Best Answer to his girlfriend, who wrote: "U R HOTT".
The Asker can choose any Answer they want, no matter how illogical or capricious, and I accept that, but I did feel a bit ticked off.
Over the last 40 yrs or so people have been taught to be Victims and to live by Feelings. This has been one of the worst things to ever happen to the Human race.
Victimization has taught people they are never at fault for what happens to them or around them. They are not Responsible for what happens in their life.
The Feeling mentality has taught people to abandon logic and reasoning and make decisions on how the Feel about something.
How does this pertain to your question? You are offended/hurt because you are the victim by not being chosen as BA. You Feel you had the best answer and now your Feelings are hurt.
Now would be the time to accept the Responsibility of not being chosen. You did not provide an answer that was considered sufficient to be the Best Answer by the asker or voters.
Now is also the time to use Logic and Reasoning and ask yourself what you can do to improve your answers. Then do it.
If your answers is better than the one chosen, make note of the Askers username and avoid this persons questions in the future. If it was chosen by voters, avoid the asker anyway. They are not responsible enough to choose a Best Answer, therefore, I won't waste my time on their questions.
No I don't. I always try to give honest, correct, and informative answers. Sometimes there are other good answers that get get picked instead. Sometimes another answer was closer to what the asker was looking for. And then sometimes an answer that is simply uninformative gets picked for whatever reason (maybe they just didn't understand my answer?). In any case, you give it your best shot and you get what you get. Nuthin' you can do about it.
Yes, I do...sometimes. Especially when I tried to give a well-thought-out reply and the stoopid Asker has chosen a stoopid answer just because it agrees with the answer he already has in mind. Doesn't it irritate you sometimes?
We should NEVER reward mediocrity and carelessness in Yahoo! Answers. It's just too easy to give a half-baked answer. But it takes good sense and brains to come up with an answer that truly helps.
A lot of times I'm just goofing off when I answer questions. When I answer health or education questions, I feel that my answers are good and could be chosen. I don't feel hurt just disappointed every once in a while.

Nope...never offended, thats life.
i only get ticked off when ppl post questions that they dont want answers to.
"let me tell you evolution cant be true...."
then they just pick someone who answers "the bible is true because the bible told me so, so i'm not a monkey."
whats the point in wasting that kinda time? but if my answers dont win, i dont mind. though its nicer to have an answer thats appreciated.
Not really. I've seen the other answers and some are better than mine.
