Resumes are usually put in a file with your other achievements, credentials etc, and shown/given by hand of the interviewee to the interviewer..
1) Resume should never be folded, crease(folding paper creates crease) creates a negative impression on the mind of the person looking at you resume so avoid it,
2.a) But if it is necessary(which it will almost never be) put it in a white envelope with your name written 'Nicely' and in a 'Neat' And 'Clean' manner in the middle with preferably a black pen,
OR
2.b) Fold it horizontally, in thirds. Fold it so that the top--the first thing the person who opens the envelope will see--is the printed side, with your name and contact info at the top.
With a resume, you must send a cover letter. The cover letter goes on top of the resume. Fold them together, same way. The part of the cover letter the person opening the envelope should see is the top, with their name and address, your name and address, and the greeting.

Hey,
Ummm I've never put mine in an envelope .
I suggest if it's more than one page long than put it in a plastic sleeve or thin file or something like that .
When people used to come drop their resume into my old work (retail store) , they just handed it over liek that (not in anything).
Hopefully this helps :)
