A Nawab was a Muslim ruling prince and powerful landowner in India.
A Nabob was a European who had made a fortune in India; it also, more informally, meant a powerful or important European in colonial India.
NawÄb-1. Indian nobleman: in India during the Mughal empire, a title for a local nobleman
2. distinguished Pakistani man: in Pakistan, a distinguished Muslim man
Nabob-:1: a provincial governor of the Mogul empire in India
2: a person of great wealth or prominence
