Could somebody in the future “sculpt” neurons?

Could a scientist one day be able to “sculpt” neurons in a human brain in any way they see fit? What could they sculpt them to do?

Latest developments in neurology are showing that people with strokes can have new connections built with various techniques (saw something on that from Australia just the other day, but was not interested enough to follow it up).

So, it's not "sculpting", but a new use for stem cells and possibly 3-d printing of templates.
