Can I exit and re-enter Turkey on a long term resident permit (Uzun Süreli İkamet)?

Hello,

I came to Turkey in September 2010 with a student visa, and studied abroad at Bogazici University for 2 semsters. First I had student visa, then in October 2010 I got a (Student) Resident Permit for 6 months, until March. I went to see my family in USA in January 2011, and when I came back to Turkey 3 weeks later, the Passport Kontrol let me in with no problems, on my Ogrenci Ikamet.

Then I extended my Ogrenci Ikamet in March, for another 6 months, until October. I finished my studies and went back to America in the summer; but I decided I wanted to live in Turkey and moved back here in September. I thought it would be okay since I still had a good Ogrenci Ikamet, good for 1 more month, but they canceled it at the airport and made me go and get a tourist visa!

It was really upsetting, but eventually I went to the Police Station in October 2011 (1 month ago) and got another Ikamet, this time Uzun Sureli Ikamet.

So now I am going to Venice for a holiday, just for 3 days, and I am worried when I come back they made try to cancel/iptal my Ikamet again. I have NO idea why they canceled the last one. This ikamet says "Uzun Sure" and not "Ogrenci" though, and also it is good until April 2012, so I should be okay, right? Am I worrying too much, or do you think they will cancel it again and make me take another Turist Visa?

Any help, I would really appreciate! I am a bit worried. Thank you so much. :)

Update:

Once you have an Ikamet, especially Uzun Sure, you should be able to re-enter and leave the country as much times as you want, right?

Thank you very much
