Okay I’m building a 5,000 sqft home which they said takes up to 8 months to build. And I’m paying almost a million dollars for it. But I would like it finished within 3 months. I wanted to add an additional of $300,000 to the contract. Does that sounds possible????

Tricky one. I agree with the other post...faster would lead to more defects.
However, with enough money, anything can be done. Why don't you speak with the builder and see if they think 300k will do the trick...? They can hire additional staff, expedite equipment and materials, etc. In addition, offer a nice bonus for finishing early...like they do with public works projects.
Ask the contractor.
Sure, you can probably get it built faster if you pay the contractor more money.
They'll use that extra money to pay the crew overtime wages to work weekends, holidays and night shifts to get things done faster than if they only work 8 hours per day 5 days per week. They'll also pay an overtime surcharge to their subcontractors (who will then use the money to pay their crew to work longer hours).
But some things can't be sped up. Concrete for the foundation takes 4 weeks to cure and no amount of money is going to magically make it happen faster.
Several of the steps probably require permits and inspections by the city and they often work at a snails pace with no option to pay for faster service.
So I highly doubt you can cut over 60% off of the baseline schedule.
I'd say spend that $300k on a nice rental and enjoy the next 8 months, then you can move into your million dollar house.
Six to eight months is about right...remember that at each phase there has to be an inspection and some communities do inspections faster than others (when I had my current house built, the builder could schedule an inspection for the date a stage was finished, when I had my next house built, the builder could not even schedule the inspection (never mind get it done) until the stage was finished - and sometimes that inspection was a week or two later). Plus, these is weather (if you are in the US, we are in winter and that may impact on the time table). And there are suppliers who may not be able to deliver immediately (and just to let you know, there are shortages of some building supplies), plus you have subcontractors who have to fit you into their schedule. And last, with the economy, there is a shortage of skilled tradesmen so many subs cannot work on more than one or two jobs at a time.
All this to say that unless you want to bring in a modular home, the 8 months is reasonable and 3 months is probably not doable.
Not 5 mo faster no. It takes a set amount time to do the physical work.
Can it be built faster? Possibly.
Can it be built faster to the extent of chopping 5 months off of an 8 month schedule? No, that's completely unrealistic.
While money can provide an incentive to a builder to maximize efficiency in scheduling all of the various pieces of work that will be required, most of the steps in building a house have to be done in series and cannot be done parallel. Some of those steps simply can't be accelerated. For example, your willingness to pay more won't make a concrete foundation cure any faster. The house can't be framed until the foundation is ready. The roof can't be put on until the house is framed. So on and so forth.
Are you sure you want them to rush through building it? If they're rushing to finish it to get the bonus, it's likely they'll cut corners and the work could be substandard. It's unreasonable to ask the contract to be shortened so much. Just getting the materials could take longer than that.
Doubt it..... probably be closer to 6months from what I've seen of various assorted projects + even if they rush it with more hands on the job there's a fair to reasonable chance you'll end up with a cack-handed job from rushing it.
Also depends what sort of workload the companies they get the bits in have on..... like if they have to get the framing in can take a while (but go up quick once it shows up).... window manufacturers often seem to hold the job up for weeks on the house building TV shows.... concrete takes time to set... planning inspector guy often needs to visit to check on progress + give the thumbs up to it.... other issues can also happen, like bad weather or end up with extra ground stabilization work than originally thought necessary.
Just watch TV show projects like "This Old House", or construction trade YouTube channels like "The Samurai Carpenter" to get an idea of the sort of things involved.

You might have to sacrifice some of the quality to speed it up that much. I wouldn't.
fast building practices will mean more defects, let the builder builf it as stated
