Recently I decided I was going to buy a dwarf hamster, but something´s been worrying me a bit. My cousin told me that if a dwarf hamster were to be severely frightened or surprised its eyes would literally bulge to the point that they would fall out. Now, this sounds like utter rubbish to me, and knowing how painfully insecure my cousin is, about any lie someone tells her she would take it as truth out of fear something might actually happen. But just to be sure and possibly rub it in her face, could someone let me know if this truth or fiction. Please answer, and thanks!

No offense to your cousin, but that is one of the most ridiculous things I've heard. I have had four dwarf hamsters and not one of them has ever had large bulging eyes never mind eyes falling out. It is a lie, the probability of that happening is probably over 1,000,000,000 to 1, if it is even possible. Just take good care of it, treat it with respect and it should live a long, happy life, and also give you enjoyment from watching it grow/develop and generally do the normal things hamsters do :).
Sounds like something on a cartoon, like Tom and Jerry lol. No, I don't think thats true.
That isn't true. Nothing to worry about there. Old wives tales.
