I'm working on a lab right now and I need to find the number of moles of CO2.
The question is "The final conditions represent the air and CO₂ from the reaction held in a smaller volume than at the start. Calculate the total moles of air AND CO₂ molecules from the ideal gas law, using the final conditions of pressure, volume and temperature. Record the total moles here."
I got the total number of moles of air by using the ideal gas law equation PV=nRT
(1.072)(139.72)=(n)(.082057)(294.2)
Solving for n I got 12.108.
How do I find the number of moles of CO2?
The unbalanced equation for this reaction is NaHCO₃(s) + HCl(aq) --> CO₂(g) + H₂O(l) + NaCl(aq).
Also, what is the balanced equation for this?
Thanks!
