I'm guessing she'll vote Democrat when she's old enough to vote.
There are those who think there will be some changes in the gun laws because of the Parkland massacre. And the reason they think that is because this is the first time when the students who were the targets are speaking up on the news and in social media.
Those students are PO'd, scared sure, but really really PO'd. And that's the first time we've heard that from the massacre targets. For example, we heard from the survivors of the Las Vegas shooting that they were scared. But not one that I recall said he or she was angry at the lack of proper gun laws.
I can't imagine watching your friend/teacher shot dead, though when you listen carefully to some of the students they are calling for an all outright banning of all Guns in the USA, that isn't going to fly in middle America
If the Vegas shooting didn't change anything, why would you expect this one to do anything?
About ten percent of Americans think such incidents are faked and at least another fifteen will never complain because they need the votes of the gun nuts.
As a former anti war protester I really hope that today's teenagers can find the courage and conviction to go to war with the NRA and the gun lobby that doesn't think that the deaths of their brethren is a big deal.
After each mass shooting, people realize it's wrong for mentally unbalanced customers to be able to get rapid-fire rifles and thousands of rounds from a gun shop.
No, people are whining particularly hard about this shooting because they hope to link the shooter to President Trump in their continuing smear campaign. Democrats will "assist" these children in order to blame President Trump for this shooting and the media will give them unlimited coverage to carry on their smear campaign against President Trump. No doubt the media be full of stories asking why President Trump and Republicans don't do anything. The media will agitate hatred for Republicans rather than demands for legislation to limit guns. People screaming at President Trump conveniently don't remember that Congress passes laws, not the President, but the media will give these people ample screen time to insult President Trump. Once the noise dies down nothing will change, Democrats will continue with their platform of seeking to ban guns and the NRA will keep reminding people that the government has no rights to demand their weapons.

What makes schools dangerous these days, is the students that parents send there.
Flat out fact.

I think we DO need to see some changes in Security procedures in Schools, and the way we no longer respect HumanLife like we used to.
Leave the Guns ALONE., They are just the tools. The killer will toss molotov cocktails if need be. the Guns are NOT the cause.
The teen that sent the tweet is just like antifa Cruz and yet you celebrate that facts.
I expect such things from people with TDS, nothing new there.
