♂ Are Jacob and John too similar for brothers?
Do you feel that Jacob and John are too similar of names for brothers? Jacob would most likely go by Jake, but John would only sometimes go by Johnny, otherwise he would be John. Are Jake and John too close? What are your feelings ont the two names in general?
Update:I knew I would have someone comment on the whole "John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt" song lol. Do you think that they would get that a lot in their lives?

They are not to similar and both names are beautiful. As soon as i saw it i thought of the song. They would probally get that a lot. It would be annoying. You would say "this is John and Jacob" and they would probally start singing the song. If they ended up going but Johnny and Jake i don't think their would be that much of a problem. Hope i could help :)

No, I do not think they are too similar for brothers. I love the John for a boy! It is timeless and classic! I personally do not like the name Jacob due to the boys I know named this.
No, I don't think they're too close. I think they sound really nice for brothers.
Also, I don't think they'll get picked on for that song, as kids aren't really told nursery rhymes any more - they more focus on full-length children songs (my mum is a childcare worker/kinder teacher and studying early development). So I think that children their age won't have any idea about John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.

I like both of those more classic names and other then beginning with the same letter I do not think they are too similar.
