Apologized to a friend for badly hurting him and he says “don’t worry about it.” Does that mean he needs space/that our friendship is over?
I lied to this guy in a horrible way, and I don’t want to push or be a bother, but is it wrong for me to ask him for clarification as to what he means? Or just leave it alone?
If someone says 'don't worry about it' it usually means they don't think it's really all that big a thing and that you are forgiven. You should just treat your friend the way you always have and only worry about your lie if he brings it up himself.

Give him time to figure his stuff out, don't worry about it means hes upset, but hes also human. He will get over it
Leave it alone. You hurt him. Just move on.
Never ever ask anyone to explain what they meant. Ask strangers instead.
