The X6 is a six-core CPU which is great if you're going to be doing things like high end graphics design or things that require a lot of CPU power or serious multi-tasking capabilities. However for gaming purposes the i5-2310 clocked at 2.9 GHz is better than a X6 1045T clocked at 2.7 GHz because clock speed is what's required in gaming, not number of cores because games don't need multi-tasking.
