Would you say for my first car that it is good for a 18 year old being able to afford a bm with my work money and is it a good choice would you be happy if your son was 18 with a bm and making up to 500 a week

If you had already had another car, and earned a year's NCB on your insurance, then it might not be such a bad idea.
But as a first car in the UK, the insurance will be a killer. Buy something in a low insurance group to earn a year's NCB at minimum cost, then think about moving up to something more desirable.

3 series or a 116i, I recommend the 3 series tho you could get either the e46 shape with that money or a cheaper 05 shape..

I'd expect my son to be paying me 150-200 bed&board if the wage is 500/week.
And he buys his own clothes, phones, and toiletries.
Anything less than that and I'd be very UNhappy about those earnings.
A BMW for an 18 year old might have very high insurance premiums. My advice is to check the insurance premiums for each car you consider. I guess if you got that BMW at your age your premiums would be higher than the price of the car!
That's an excellent wage, so my advice to you would be to save it towards a house or flat deposit, rather than spend it on a car.
